Joseph was also the first voice of Hugh McClaw
on the Christian radio drama Paws and Tales.
Why do you enjoy being part of the Jonathan Park project?
I would say first, it's always a gift to be able to serve the Lord using the abilities He's given us, you
know? So I'm grateful for that. Making this even more special was working alongside the staff and
other actors who make this program happen. Everyone was a joy to work with-its been like an
extended family. Tons of laughter, prayer, and encouragement. We all know its the Lord who has
blessed it all. I wish every fan of Jonathan Park could guest-star for one day. You'd see what I mean!
Why is the creation message important?
Where do I begin? I think people need to understand the truth about how God created the world-and
more importantly, them! This can be a watershed issue in someone's worldview, theology, and
ultimately, where they end up after they die. When people see they were created by a loving God, they
will see their need to be reconciled to Him. If they believe the lie that we all just evolved, then they have
no need for anything else but what they create for themselves. That is why getting this message out is
so important; especially to the younger generations.
What is it like to play your character?
At this point I have played two characters-Riley the artist from the earlier episodes, and more recently,
Dr. Glen West. Both of these are pretty sincere in their positions, though opposite from each other. So,
when I played them, I did just that. Just focused on what they believed, why they believed it, and went
from there. Personally, both were a lot of fun for me, and both taught me a lot! I am such a novice when
it comes to creation science-I thank them both for teaching me what they know!
Is there a time when you got to use the creation message to share the gospel with
Yes, my involvement in Jonathan Park has been a springboard for some pretty genuine conversations
about creation and Jesus with some of my family members. I'm so thankful for that.
What is your favorite scripture, and why?
Oh man....This question is very unfair! For me, my favorite verse changes with the seasons God has
me in. Right now, He is teaching me a lot about trust and His holiness, so a verse that really hits home
is Prov. 30:5:
"Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him."
Isaiah 50:10 - "Who is among you that feareth the LORD, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that
walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the LORD, and stay upon his God.".
Check them out...and really chew on them. Tomorrow I am sure I will have others! That's the beauty of
His Word. Endlessly amazing.
What has the Lord been teaching you during this project?
Above all, He is in charge. Secondly, how amazing it is that He includes us in His work-He wants us to
be apart of it, which makes me so thankful for His gifts. Third, I have been challenged to have a
stronger, more informed foundation when it comes to defending my faith against the lies of evolution.
Fourth, being exposed to the ministry of Vision Forum has opened my eyes to a stronger Biblical
model for the family that I hope to implement in my life one day should I have one. And lastly, God must
have a sense of humor...just hang out in the recording studio with us and you'll see!
Do you like working with the other actors on the team?
Absolutely! And I hope to be able to do it more in the future! Thanks to all of the friends
and family who support the ministry-and especially you the fans for your enthusiasm and
encouragement. This is pretty fun stuff, serving the Lord through the ministry of
Jonathan Park. We're all on this adventure together! If we don't meet on the way, I'll see
you at the end!
