Dr. Shannon Hunt (Album #5)
Miranda (
Return to Hidden Cave)
Album #5 is really a story about changes
happening in Dr. Hunt's life. Throughout the
episodes of Album #5, Shannon goes on
adventures, tells stories about her past,
struggles with family relationships, leads her
team, and builds friendships. It was one of the
most complicated characters we've thrown at
someone, and Roxanne did a fantastic job
making Shannon believable!
Why do you enjoy being part of the Jonathan Park project?
I love to be able to use my training in theater arts to ultimately glorify God.

Why is the creation message important?
The creation message is important because God is a god of details!  He is scientific and
thought of everything down to the last cell before He made it.  If He cares that much about
itty, bitty flowers, plants and animals, how much more does He care for us?

What is it like to play your character?
I loved playing Shannon Hunt because she had so many layers.  She is arrogant yet thinks
about things deeply.  She can be impatient and sarcastic but deep down, she is really fair
and does care about people.

Is there a time when you got to use the creation message to share the gospel with
Many times.  I met a woman on a train trip reading a book on creation and I started up a
conversation with her on the topic.  I was able to share much of the information I have
learned from all of the Jonathan Park CD's. By the end of the trip, three people were listening
and I got to share Christ with all of them.

What is your favorite scripture, and why?
Job 42:2 - " I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden
from thee."  I love this because no matter what happens in life and how many dumb choices
we make or how many life circumstances can get us off track, God will bring His purpose for
our lives to fruition.  He cares that much.  He is the "hound of heaven".

What has the Lord been teaching you during this project?
Just to be excellent in all that I do. If the characters are not believable, they just become a
distraction.  The characters are a means unto an end - the end being to teach about creation
and glorify the living God.

What is your favorite creation evidence?
I love the "foolish things that confound the wise".  ICR has a video that talks about different
defense mechanisms some animals have to protect themselves like the beetle that shoots out
gas and makes an explosion in it's predators face or the woodpecker that has a tongue that
wraps up into it's head.  I think God must have done some things like that because he
thought that they were funny and it is so ridiculous to think that those attributes could have
"evolved", male and female at the same time.

Do you like working with the other actors on the team?
I love working with everyone on the JP team.  Everyone is flexible and kind.  You don't see
too much of that in the real "show biz" world.
